Cryos board member Line Sandberg

Interview with Cryos’ board member Line Sandberg

To meet the increasing demand for both donor sperm and donor eggs all over the world, Cryos needs to continuously develop as a company. One of the recent and very exciting developments is the establishment of a new, professional board. The board consists of strong players from the political, medical and pharmaceutical world to support and to lead us into the future of fertility treatment. One of the members of the board is Line Sandberg, Vice President of the medical company LEO Pharma.

In the following, Line Sandberg shares her thoughts of becoming a part of an international sperm and egg bank, and why she thinks providing donor sperm and donor eggs is important – both for the individuals, who are directly affected, but also for society in general.

What motivated you to become part of Cryos’ board?

I think that Cryos is providing a very important service to singles and couples who, for various reasons, cannot have children “the natural way”. Having children is a very important and natural element in our whole existence, and we therefore have to make sure that future parents can get the help they need to achieve their dream.

I think it is an important and noble cause to provide help to childless people who desperately wish to become parents. Besides that, it is also important for our society. Child births and fertility in general are decreasing, among other things, due to the fact that we establish our families later and later in life.

I am blessed myself with two lovely children – a girl who is 21 years old and a boy who is 18 years old – and having children has for me been the most significant and important experience of my life. I wish for everybody to be able to experience the joy of having children.

If I hadn’t been able to have children the “natural way”, I would definitely have sought help. I have several acquaintances who have had children with the help of a donor and who are now happy parents of healthy and happy children.

What do you want to bring to the table at Cryos?

When you choose a company to help you become pregnant with your dream child, I believe that product quality and trust are two of the most important factors. I have several years of experience in ensuring quality and compliance and in putting together processes that enables good, fast and seamless service to customers. This is, among other things, what I wish to contribute with.

How do you see the future of fertility treatment?

I think that the number of people receiving fertility treatment will continue to go up in the future. General fertility is decreasing for various reasons, we see new and different family structures, and there is a rise in the number of women who choose to become single mothers. So, I think it will become increasingly important to be able to provide people with the right kinds of fertility support and treatment.
